Nick's Restaurant

My wife had seen Nick’s on TikTok a few times and wanted to give it a try, so we met some friends from Kingsport there last night. I went in with zero expectations since I knew nothing about the place beforehand. We arrived about 10 minutes before 7:00, and our friends got there a few minutes before us. We ended up waiting roughly 35 minutes for a table, so naturally I assumed the food must be worth the wait. We started with the pork mac n’ cheese bites and the fiery mozzarella sticks. Both were good — the mozzarella sticks weren’t particularly spicy, but they were better than most I’ve had, and I’m typically not big on mac n’ cheese bites, but these definitely stood out. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich with garlic parm fries. I was impressed with the sandwich overall, though it didn’t have quite as much flavor as I was hoping for. Adding a little buffalo sauce made it perfect. My wife ordered the hot honey nuggets, which were very good as well. Overall, it was a solid experience with good food and no complaints. Since it’s about 30 minutes away, we probably won’t make frequent trips, but I’m glad we tried it — definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area. Well done, Nick’s!

Great chicken and really friendly staff. The only thing that kept this from being five stars was the burger… that burger was a big mistake. I’ll go ahead and get that out of the way and then we’ll go into the praise for everything else! I was expecting a hand patted burger, juicy, and delicious. What I got was a sad, thin little patty that was so overcooked and devoid of juice. I think it had been frozen? It was bland with the exception of a little bit of a burn taste as it was burned on one side. Won’t make the mistake of getting that again for $16. The real Star of Nick’s is of course the chicken and I guess I should have gotten that.. my better half did and shared with me and I was so happy. The pieces of boneless chicken were huge and so moist. The flavor was excellent. I also like knowing that the chicken is no growth hormone or antibiotic. We were a little worried when we got the fries because crinkle cuts are not our thing then we tasted them and realize they were hand cut crinkle cut, and they became the best crinkle I have ever had. Their honey mustard is made from scratch and is so excellent. It also taste like they might make their own garlic bread as it was super fresh. Go for the chicken and the people and the fries!

We tried Nicks today for the first time. Lydia was our server, she was amazing, answered all our questions. The food came out fast, drinks were great and reasonably priced. We will definitely return.
